For a multi-sensory experience unlike any other in the heart of Downtown Dubai, visit the newly opened Arte Museum.
Dubai's creative scene continues to expand with new and engaging offerings. From state-of-the-art galleries to venues that offer a multi-sensory experience, there is no shortage of places for art enthusiasts in the emirate. Joining the ranks is the newly-opened Arte Museum. Located in Dubai Mall, the 2,800-square-metre venue is dedicated to immersive art, bringing the creative world to life with the help of technology and blurring the boundaries between imagination and reality.
Designed by the world-renowned Korean digital design company, d'strct, the creative exhibits at Arte Museum mirror the landscape of its home, Dubai – a place of limitless possibilities. Utilising production mapping, multi-image control and sensor-based interaction, the venue enables visitors to closely appreciate the exhibits and fully immerse themselves in the surrounding art.
Stunning visuals
Centred around the theme of 'Eternal Nature', Arte Museum Dubai showcases stunning natural landscapes set against the cultural backdrop of Dubai. Spread across 14 zones, the immersive exhibits take visitors on a vivid visual journey that engages all the senses. From stirring soundscapes to custom-scented aromas, every element is curated to harmonise with the art, creating a fully engaging experience.
Journeying through the venue, guests will walk through galleries blooming with flowers while taking in the pleasant aromas, listen to the sound of waves crashing against the shore and go on a night safari accompanied by the sounds of the jungle.
Surround sound
From the moment guests step into Arte Museum, the experience becomes transformative. Leaving behind the buzz of Dubai Mall, visitors are immediately transported to another world, enveloped by the resounding echoes of giant waves crashing against the shore. Yet, this is only the beginning. As guests journey further, their senses are heightened as they become engulfed in darkness, with only the rhythmic sound of water guiding their way through the gallery.
The captivating soundscape is the creation of award-winning music director Young-gyu Jang. His meticulously crafted musical compositions perfectly complement the art, enhancing the overall presentation of the exhibits. Elsewhere, the symphony of birdsong, cascading waterfalls and vibrant jungle creatures further enriches the experience.
Refreshing aromas
Taking the experience a step further, the museum introduces distinctive scents into the air to complement each artwork. Crafted by Marianne Nawrocki Sabatier, Senior Professor at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, these custom scents lend a unique vibe to the space. For instance, while walking through flourishing gardens, visitors can catch the fragrance of the camellia flower as it transitions from bud to full bloom.
Get involved
Giving visitors an opportunity to unleash their creativity and imagination, Arte Museum boasts a Live Sketchbook feature. Here, guests can choose an animal, fill them with vibrant colours and watch as their creation comes to life, prancing across the screen during a night safari.
Similarly, the Live Canvas feature allows visitors to create their own masterpieces against the backdrop of the desert. As the sun moves across the sky, the canvas reveals a changing world as the drawing unfolds on the screen.
