Welcome to Rotana Lifestyle

Hello and welcome to a new edition of Rotana Lifestyle – our exclusive digital platform offering plenty of inspiration on all things travel, art, fashion, food and more

What a remarkable transformation we witness every year in the Middle East, when the scorching heat of the summer finally surrenders to the cooler days of winter. The distinct changes in the weather and the landscape are not without an extraordinary shift in our lifestyles. We begin to head outdoors to experience the abundance of nature in this part of the world; we take on active pursuits; the beach becomes everybody's favourite pastime and we find ourselves lingering over the al fresco dining tables a little longer, whether it's just for a weekend get-together or a festive tradition.

Reflecting this vibrant energy of the season, our latest edition is a treasure trove of stories that capture the very essence of winter in the region. While our diaries for the busy festive period ahead are already filling up, browse our showcase of the best events and festivals taking place in the region this October, November and December to ensure you haven't missed anything. And if you're planning a winter break, we're certain you'll find plenty of inspiration here. Whether you're seeking an escape close to home or further beyond, our winter travel guides, from Hatta to Georgia have you covered.

Much further afield, we turn our gaze towards the skies as we take a look at the UAE's space exploration efforts. Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, who was part of the longest Arab space mission in history, returned last month from his six-month expedition aboard the International Space Station. Yet, this is just the beginning for the region, with its sights set on further growth in this field.

The cooler months also bring with them a fresh new wave of trends. We've combed the biggest runways to bring you the best finds for Autumn/Winter 2023, whether you're looking to revamp your wardrobe or seeking gifting options for the holidays.

Finally, here at Rotana, there's plenty going on. We recently welcomed our new Chief Operating Officer Eddy Tannous to the team. He brings with him 20 years of experience in hospitality across the Middle East and will oversee our portfolio as we seek to expand regionally and globally.

It also gives me immense pleasure to introduce our new destination – Dakar in Senegal – and our upcoming property in Georgia. However, I do so on a bittersweet note. After nearly 10 years at Rotana, it's time for me to bid the team farewell as I move on to pursue a new opportunity early next year. It has been a great privilege leading this wonderful team, as we worked together to achieve new milestones along this journey. And I couldn't be more proud to be leaving each and every one of our guests in their capable hands as they take on 2024 with a renewed zeal, all the while delivering on our promise of Treasured Time.

Until then, for one last time, I look forward to welcoming you to a Rotana hotel very soon and hope you enjoy browsing this edition of Rotana Lifestyle.

With kind regards,

Guy Hutchinson
